I made a big batch of soap this morning, scented with Patchouli and Clementine. I really does smell wonderful. The clementine sweetens and takes the edge off the patchouli. I can hardly wait for this one to cure.
I was astonished today to be contacted by a merchant who actually threatened me with legal action for selling lavender sachets, which have been around since at least the middle ages. Apparently this merchant thinks they invented them. This individual has since backed off. Now, I am simply rude because I didn't ask this merchant first before putting lavender sachets in my store. Sigh.

I'm sorry to hear this!! Boy is this annoying to say the least. Happened to me - a woman wanted me to remove lunchbox notes from my site because she invented them in 2002, so she claimed. It turned out that she purchased the copyright along with the domain name. We'll be seeing more and more of this, I'm afraid. There are many people running around thinking they own license rights to everyday items because they paid a $4.95 copyright fee. Sigh.
Well then you know what it's like. It's really kind of funny, if it wasn't so annoying. Anyone who has researched copyright knows you cannot copyright a useful item or idea. There was a lot of this going on in the 90's in the graphics world. I hate to see it happening now in crafting.
